Mockingbird Hill

Mockingbird Hill was gifted to First Baptist Church Teague by Anthony and Florence Ellisor in 2006. Their will expressed a clear purpose: that the property be used to edify the church, reach the community, and strengthen believers in the area. The main building, “the Lodge,” was fully funded and completed in 2009. Since then, the property has served as a welcoming place for families, church groups, and local youth to enjoy the outdoors. In 2024, a new committee came together to establish by‑laws that would guide Mockingbird Hill into its next chapter as a Christ‑centered, family‑friendly space. Our goal is to help people experience God’s creation with gratitude and to ensure the land is used in ways that honor its intended purpose.
